This Act is aimed at providing quick and fair compensation for workers'

occupational accidents by implementing an industrial accident compensation

insurance business, and promoting rehabilitation and return to society for injured workers.

이 법은 산업재해보상보험 사업을 시행하여 근로자의 업무상의 재해를 신속하고 공정하게

보상하며, 재해근로자의 재활 및 사회 복귀를 촉진하기 위한 것이다.

The industrial accident compensation insurance business is administered by the Minister

of Employment and Labor.

산업재해보상보험 사업은 고용노동부장관이 관장한다.

The insurance year of the insurance business depends on the government's fiscal year.

보험사업의 보험연도는 정부의 회계연도에 따른다.

The State shall bear the expenses for the execution of its affairs in general account.

국가는 사무 집행에 드는 비용을 일반회계에서 부담하여야 한다.

Occupational accidents refer to injuries, illnesses, disabilities, or deaths of workers due

to occupational reasons.

업무상의 재해란 업무상의 사유에 따른 근로자의 부상ㆍ질병ㆍ장해 또는 사망을 말한다.

Workers, wages, average wages, and ordinary wages each follow the Labor Standards Act.

근로자ㆍ임금ㆍ평균임금ㆍ통상임금이란 각각 근로기준법에 따른다.

Survivor refers to the spouse, children, parents, grandchildren, grandparents, or siblings

of a deceased person.

유족이란 사망한 사람의 배우자ㆍ자녀ㆍ부모ㆍ손자녀ㆍ조부모 또는 형제자매를 말한다.

Healing means that the injury or disease is cured or the effect of treatment is no

longer expected and the symptoms have reached a fixed state.

치유란 부상 또는 질병이 완치되거나 치료의 효과를 더 이상 기대할 수 없고 그 증상이

고정된 상태에 이르게 된 것을 말한다.

Disability refers to a condition in which injuries or illnesses have been healed, but

labor capacity has been lost or decreased due to mental or physical damage.

장해란 부상 또는 질병이 치유되었으나 정신적 또는 육체적 훼손으로 인하여 노동능력이

상실되거나 감소된 상태를 말한다.
