MND & 2ID celebrate 60th anniversary of alliance with concert 


CAMP CASEY, South Korea – The ROK Ministry of National Defense and the 2nd Infantry Division held a concert Monday at Camp Casey to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the ROK-U.S. Mutual Defense Treaty, signed after the Korean War.
´ëÇѹα¹, Ä·ÇÁ ÄÉÀ̽à – ´ëÇѹα¹ ±¹¹æºÎ¿Í ¹Ì Á¦2º¸º´»ç´ÜÀº Áö³­ ¿ù¿äÀÏ Çѱ¹ÀüÀï ÈÄ Ã¼°áµÈ Á¤ÀüÇùÁ¤ 60ÁÖ³âÀ» ±â³äÇÏ¿© Ä·ÇÁ ÄÉÀ̽ÿ¡¼­ Äܼ­Æ®¸¦ ¿­¾ú´Ù.
More than 2,500 attendees, including service members, their families, and citizens of both the ROK and the U.S., participated in the event.
Çѱ¹±º°ú ¹Ì±º À庴°ú °¡Á·, ±×¸®°í ¾ç±¹ ½Ã¹ÎµéÀ» Æ÷ÇÔÇÏ¿© 2,500¿©¸íÀÌ º» Çà»ç¿¡ Âü¿©ÇÏ¿´´Ù.
The concert included performances by several opera singers, Crayon Pop, Dal¡Úshabet, Wa$$up, B-Boy, Love and Peace, and featured both the ROK Army 28th Infantry Division and the 2nd Infantry Division bands.
Äܼ­Æ®´Â ¿ÀÆä¶ó °¡¼öµé°ú, Å©·¹¿ë ÆË, ´Þ»þºª, ¿Í½ç, ºñº¸ÀÌ, »ç¶û°ú ÆòÈ­, ±×¸®°í ´ëÇѹ̱¹ Á¦28»ç´Ü°ú ¹Ì2»ç´Ü ¹êµåÀÇ °ø¿¬À¸·Î ÀÌ·ç¾îÁ³´Ù.
Commanders from both the Third ROK Army 28th Infantry Division and 2ID attributed the success of the Alliance to the hard working men and women from both countries, and all the soldiers who came before them.
Á¦3±º´Ü Á¦28»ç´ÜÀå°ú ¹Ì2»ç´ÜÀåÀÌ Çѹ̵¿¸ÍÀÇ ¼º°øÀº ¸ðµÎ ¾ç±¹ÀÇ ¼º½ÇÇÑ ±¹¹Îµé°ú ±ºÀÎµé ´öºÐÀ̶ó´Â °ÍÀ» °­Á¶Çß´Ù.
Soldiers from both militaries were eager to see the musicians perform, while enjoying the camaraderie shared throughout the audience.
ÇÑ¹Ì ¾ç±¹ÀÇ À庴µéÀº °ü¶÷À» Çϸ鼭 »ý±ä ¿ìÁ¤¿¡ ±â»µÇϸç, °¡¼öµéÀÇ °ø¿¬À» ¸¹ÀÌ ±â´ëÇÏ°í ÀÖ¾ú´Ù.
“I am really happy and excited,” said 22-year-old Pv2. Jung Dae-hyun, of the ROK 28th Division Artillery. “This is my first time visiting U.S. Army camp and also it is my first time enjoying ‘visiting train’ concert. I was surprised when U.S. Soldiers said hello to me, even though they don’t know me. I feel that they are our friends.”

“I really appreciate all of the people who have helped with this special moment here at Camp Casey,” said Maj. Gen. Lee Soon-kwang, 28ID commanding general. “These kinds of special events continue our alliance and friendship, and together we will be strong.”

“With a relationship that began as brothers in arms more than 60 years ago, it is so wonderful that we take the opportunity to come together to celebrate this special partnership,” said Maj. Gen. Thomas S. Vandal, 2ID commanding general. “Events like tonight’s concert demonstrate that the ROK-U.S. Alliance is alive and well, and built on friendship and mutual respect.”
